The Lich (リッチ, Ritchi?)! is a recurring enemy and boss in the Final Fantasy series. While he has no consistent appearance, he is always a magical-aligned undead. The Lich is sometimes teamed up with Marilith, the Kraken, and Tiamat to make the Four Fiends.

Lich is Old English for “corpse.” It is also a powerful undead sorcerer, who has separated its life force, moving it from its body to an item called a phylactery to grant everlasting life. The immense power it had in life can be augmented infinitely, since it will supposedly have an infinite amount of time to study and hone its magical craft. Their life lasts as long as the phylactery remains intact, and they will die if it is destroyed. It hails from Dungeons and Dragons, which the original Final Fantasy draws a lot of its bestiary from. Prishe has dark skin and pale violet hair that falls to the small of her back, with two bangs that frame her face. She wears a cropped short-sleeved black jacket held closed with a red ribbon and blue brooch over a long, high collared black and white top with criss-crossing up the sides and long violet sleeves. Patterned black shorts stop above her knees, and she wears brown heeled boots that fold over the top. Small gold designs pattern her clothing, from the trimmings of her jacket and the sleeves of her top, to the gold adorning the small black hat atop her head.

When first encountered, Prishe is revealed to be tomboyish, confident, loud, no-nonsense, impatient, excitable, easily agitated, and foulmouthed. Despite this, there are times when she can become depressed, such as during revelations about her destiny, and the prospect of her immortality, even uncharacteristically shedding tears about it at the end of Chains of Promathia. This has led her to become very self-sacrificing, believing her life is of little worth, contrasting several villainous Final Fantasy characters who often go insane upon such discoveries. He appears only in Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya: Next Dimension and Shiori Teshirogi’s Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas manga, both prequels of the original manga.
